Inspired Giving. Making a Difference. Leading by Example.

This has been quite an amazing year for us. First, a lifelong dream of mine to open a trade school came to life through the Cohen Career Collective at LaGuardia Community College, a workforce development center that offers support programs and trainings to help people get jobs in high-demand sectors.

We helped advance research around psychedelics and mental health; we see the difference it is making for people suffering from mental health conditions, including addiction, anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

This year we also announced the launch of our Women’s Health Portfolio, with a focus on menopause. We recognized the scarcity of research and education on these topics and are committed to finding the leading experts in the field to support their work. We don’t just want to talk about it; we want to make some real changes in how women are treated medically and how doctors are trained. Most importantly we want women to know that they do not have to suffer in silence. Women’s health issues are no longer taboo, they are real, and we need to support each other.

We launched our first Edge of Medicine Conference, expanding beyond Lyme Disease to feature speakers working on transformative solutions for women’s health, mental health and psychedelics, and chronic illnesses associated with Lyme Disease. They shared breakthroughs in technology, treatment methods, and patient care, and inspired us to push for even more results.

We will continue our Giving Tour initiative and travel to all 50 states - we have about 15 left - to inspire giving and support those in need, especially in the flyover states.

I am grateful for my staff who work so hard in finding our grantees and cultivating an incredible working relationship with them. To all the grantees and the vital work they do every day, they show up, often without recognition, to support those in need. Their efforts have positively impacted thousands of lives, and I am truly grateful to have witnessed their dedication. They are the ones who inspire me to do more and to be better every day.

With gratitude,

Alex
